Copy cutters are standard tools for turning operations. Copy cutters are reversible cutting tool (carbide) inserts with very sharp cutting angles. These can be used for finishing operations on a turned workpiece, plane surfaces, radius transitions, cylindrical parts and simultaneous passes when transitioning from a cylindrical surface to a planar surface. Copy cutters are preset and measured on ZOLLER presetters and measuring machines. ZOLLER presetters and measuring machines simultaneously determine length, diameter, cutter radii as well as angles. Thus it is possible to use ZOLLER presetters and measuring machines to view angle position of the cutting edge and, in addition, the "hyperion" series of machines can be used to set the center height and tool tip without touching by means of the camera.
