In order for boring and friction tools to function, they require a taper for each cutting edge. Especially in the case of friction tools, a taper is present in form of a minor cutting edge, as is also the case with PCD (polycrystalline diamond) tools. This minor cutting edge is to ensure a quality surface and also important for the service life of the tool. It must be set and held to very close tolerances. For such presetting, ZOLLER offers various approaches in form of automatic course of action by differential or incremental dimensioning as well as special measuring programs using photo-realistic data input for contactless and micron (m) precise presetting of taper or minor cutting edges of all kinds.
